The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has sent a high-level delegation to China as part of its sports diplomacy efforts aimed at expanding cricket and strengthening technical cooperation.

The delegation includes national team coach Nawroz Mangal and four players: Qais Ahmad, Zahir Khan Pakteen, Faisal Shinowzada, and Wahidullah Zadran. The visit comes at the official invitation of Chinese cricket authorities.

Ahead of the trip, ACB Chief Executive Officer Naseeb Khan met with the delegation and stated that Afghanistan remains committed to the growth and development of cricket and seeks to share its experience with international partners.

He added that cooperation between Afghanistan and China in cricket could strengthen sporting ties between the two countries and create new opportunities for the development of the game.

According to the Cricket Board, during the visit the delegation will hold discussions with Chinese officials on the social development of cricket, positive youth engagement, and the sport’s overall growth. They will also take part in various workshops and attend exhibitions focused on sports technology.

The Afghan delegation is also expected to participate in a friendly cricket match organized by the relevant Chinese cricket authorities.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board had earlier signed a cooperation agreement with the Uzbekistan Cricket Federation aimed at promoting cricket development and sharing technical expertise through joint initiatives and workshops.
