UNAMA: 13 civilians killed, 10 injured in airstrikes in Khost, Kunar and Paktika

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has reported that 13 civilians were killed and 10 others injured in airstrikes carried out during the night of 9–10 June in the eastern and south-eastern Afghan provinces of Khost, Paktika, and Kunar. Most of the victims were women and children.

UNAMA described the incident as deeply concerning and called for a thorough investigation into the civilian casualties.

In response, UNAMA reiterated its call for de-escalation, a durable ceasefire, the protection of civilians, the reopening of border crossings to facilitate humanitarian assistance, and renewed dialogue to resolve ongoing disputes.
