A Pakistan Army Aviation Mi-17 helicopter crashed during takeoff near Muzaffarabad on Wednesday, reportedly due to a technical malfunction.
According to several local media reports, 21 military personnel and crew members were on board the aircraft, and all were killed in the crash.
The military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed that there were no survivors. Rescue and recovery teams were immediately dispatched to the crash site on Wednesday, where they recovered the bodies of the victims and collected debris from the wreckage.
The Pakistan Army has announced that a board of inquiry has been constituted to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir and other senior military officials expressed condolences to the families of the victims, describing the incident as a tragic loss.
