Taliban intelligence officials have detained Rahim Sikandar, a civil activist in Khost who had previously expressed support for the Taliban government on social media, according to reports.
Sources say Sikandar had recently intensified his criticism of the Taliban government. He was reportedly detained by intelligence officials at his shop in Khost following those criticisms.

The reported detention comes weeks after Taliban intelligence officials in Khost also detained Ehsan Sadat, a member of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) who had criticized the Pakistani state. Sadat was reportedly sentenced to about one year in prison.
