Pakistan Emphasizes Expanding Relations with Afghanistan and Other Neighboring Countries

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, has said that Islamabad is working to expand trilateral and regional cooperation with Afghanistan, China, Bangladesh, and other countries.

Speaking last night at the South Asian Federation of Accountants conference in Lahore, Dar stated that Pakistan can no longer afford to remain isolated. He added that South Asian countries can achieve significant benefits through economic cooperation and that regional stability and collaboration are in the interest of all nations.

At the same time, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, the provincial leader of the Awami National Party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said during a gathering at Bacha Khan Markaz in Peshawar that peaceful and trade relations with all neighboring countries, including Afghanistan, are an urgent necessity.

He emphasized that countries in the region should strengthen economic cooperation and mutual ties instead of focusing on political differences, as such efforts are vital for regional security, stability, and economic growth.

These remarks come at a time when Pakistan has faced diplomatic and regional challenges in recent years due to what critics describe as contradictory policies toward its neighboring countries. According to analysts, rebuilding trust with neighboring states has become an important priority for Islamabad.
