The one-off Test match between Afghanistan and India has officially begun after India won the toss and elected to bat first.
For Afghanistan, the playing XI consists of Hashmatullah Shahidi (captain), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rahmat Shah, Abdul Malik, Azmatullah Omarzai, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Sediqullah Atal, Afsar Zazai, Nangeyalia Kharote, Saleem Safi, and Zia Sharifi.
India’s playing XI includes Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (captain), Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harsh Dubey/Manav Suthar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna.
This is the second Test match in the history of cricket between Afghanistan and India and is being played in New Chandigarh, India.
Afghanistan played its first-ever Test match against India in June 2018. India won that match by a comprehensive margin.
