United Nations: Attacks by Pakistan’s Military Regime Have Caused Casualties Among 159 Children in Afghanistan

The United Nations has said in a recent report that, from January 2023 to December 2025, 159 incidents of child casualties in Afghanistan were attributed to airstrikes and artillery attacks by Pakistani military regime forces. According to the report, a total of 1,415 children were killed or injured in Afghanistan during this period.

The UN Secretary-General’s report on children and armed conflict states that, during the period under review, airstrikes and artillery attacks by Pakistani forces in various parts of Afghanistan were among the causes of child casualties.

According to the report, among all verified incidents of grave violations of children’s rights in Afghanistan, 159 incidents were attributed to attacks by Pakistani forces.

The United Nations said that, from January 2023 to December 2025, 446 children were killed and another 969 were injured in Afghanistan. According to the report, around 80 percent of child casualty incidents were caused by explosive devices.

The United Nations has called on all parties to take the necessary measures to protect children and refrain from using explosive weapons in residential areas. The organization also stressed the need for increased support for mine-clearance programs and the removal of unexploded ordnance.
