PSL to Be Held Behind Closed Doors in Lahore and Karachi

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be held without spectators.

He stated that the matches will take place only in Lahore and Karachi, despite earlier plans to organize the tournament across multiple cities with significant participation from overseas players.

According to available information, several foreign players have already decided to withdraw from the league.

The decision comes amid rising domestic security concerns in Pakistan in recent weeks, which had sparked fears that the tournament might be cancelled altogether. However, it has now been decided that the PSL will go ahead, but behind closed doors.

This year’s edition of the PSL will also coincide with the Indian Premier League (IPL) in neighboring India, widely considered the world’s premier franchise cricket tournament. The overlap has reportedly had a negative impact on the PSL over the past year, particularly in terms of player availability and overall planning.
