OCHA: Recent floods damage 61 health centers and hundreds of schools

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says that recent floods have caused widespread destruction across several provinces of Afghanistan.

OCHA adds that dozens of health centers in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Zabul, Logar, and Badghis have been damaged, and many schools have been destroyed, affecting the education of thousands of children.

According to the report, more than 214 people have lost their lives in the floods, while thousands of homes have been destroyed. OCHA has warned that funding shortages and damaged roads are severely hampering the delivery of humanitarian assistance to affected areas.
