OCHA: Funding Gap for Humanitarian Aid in Afghanistan Continues to Widen

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says that the funding gap for humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan is continuing to widen, posing a serious threat to life-saving services.

According to the information, only about $269 million (around 16%) of the $1.71 billion required for the 2026 humanitarian response plan has been received so far.

OCHA warns that if additional funding is not urgently secured, millions of Afghans could be left without essential humanitarian assistance.
