Hamid Karzai Calls for Condemnation of Pakistan’s Attacks

Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai, in a letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, stated that Pakistan’s attacks on Afghanistan, which have caused civilian casualties and significant damage to national infrastructure, are in violation of international law and contrary to the principles and objectives of the United Nations.

Mr. Karzai called on the United Nations to condemn these attacks.

In his letter, the former president also emphasized that Pakistan’s policy over the past four decades has involved using extremism and violence as tools for regional influence.

He urged the Secretary-General to ensure respect for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, to prevent the recurrence of such attacks, and to help free the region from the cycle of violence.
