Concerns among residents over an increase in nighttime thefts have grown in Pakhtunkhwa.

Local residents in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa say that incidents of theft have increased due to reduced police patrols at night.

Residents of the Daudzai area of Peshawar say that thieves recently stole an 11,000-volt main electricity transmission line.

They add that in many areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there is no electricity at night, leaving the areas in darkness, which, they say, has created an opportunity for thieves to carry out thefts.

Local residents are calling on police to increase nighttime patrols and strengthen security measures to prevent thefts.

Meanwhile, residents say that as militant attacks have increased in Pakhtunkhwa, police are also facing security threats and, in many areas, are unable to leave their security posts freely to conduct patrols after evening.
