Afghan Refugees in Warsak, Peshawar: Six Individuals Allegedly Forcibly Disappeared by Pakistani Forces

Peshawar – Warsak: A number of Afghan refugees in the Warsak area of Peshawar have expressed concern to Rana Television regarding recent arrests and alleged enforced disappearances carried out by security forces.

An Afghan refugee who contacted Rana stated that in recent days, the Pakistani army and police have launched extensive operations targeting Afghan migrants. According to him, individuals possessing legal documents and who have been residing in the area for years are among those being detained.

The source further claims that those arrested are being transferred to undisclosed locations, and their families have no information about their whereabouts. He also expressed concern that some detainees may be forcibly linked to various accusations or pressured into making confessions.

The refugee added that just yesterday, six Afghan nationals were detained from a single neighborhood within the refugee community.

So far, Pakistani authorities have not issued an official statement regarding these allegations.

Afghan refugees in the area are calling on international organizations and human rights institutions to investigate their situation and prevent potential violations.
