A number of activists from North Waziristan, in a video shared on social media, say that curfews are frequently imposed in the region, during which valuable mineral resources are allegedly transported from Pashtun areas of Pakistan to Punjab by the Pakistani military.
Local residents say that during such restrictions, the Pakistani military moves mineral resources from different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and convoys of heavy trucks pass through the region. They further claim that today, control over the resources of Pashtun areas lies with Punjab, which benefits from them.
Activists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are calling for unity against what they describe as exploitation and are urging people to rise in protest against it.
