Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has reacted to the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against four senior Taliban officials.
Mujahid condemned the move and said that the Taliban do not recognize any court by the name of the International Criminal Court and do not attach any importance to its decisions.
He added that the Taliban leaders have not committed any act that would make them subject to arrest or punishment by any court.
On October 5, the International Criminal Court unsealed arrest warrants in connection with the situation in Afghanistan against Taliban Supreme Leader Hibatullah Akhundzada, Chief Justice Abdul Hakim Haqqani, Minister of Higher Education Neda Mohammad Nadim, and Minister of Education Habibullah Agha.
The court said the warrants are related to allegations of crimes against humanity, particularly persecution on gender grounds.
