Pakistan to Launch Crackdown on Undocumented Afghan Refugees

Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior has announced that it will launch a nationwide crackdown on undocumented foreigners, particularly Afghan nationals, starting July 10, 2026.

According to an official notification issued by the ministry, Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan without valid legal documents or visas will face arrest and legal action.

The notification states that the federal government has instructed the chief secretaries of all four provinces, inspectors general of police, and the Islamabad administration to strictly implement the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan (IFRP).

It further states that, beginning July 11, provincial authorities will be required to submit daily reports on arrests and enforcement operations to the Ministry of Interior.
